12:13 am	2003 Jeds winners announcement The 2003 Jeds committee would like to officially announce the winners in this year's Jeds West Wing Fanfiction awards. Head on over to the Jeds website and click on 'winners'. The committee's thanks go to every one of you who nominated stories, voted, came back to vote in the final round, sent kudos, informed us in the politest ways possible of the snags. The response has been tremendous, and you all helped make it worth all the work.

9:16 am	Final Voting closing in 2003 Jeds The final round of The Jeds will be closing tonight. For anyone who hasn't voted and would like to, run over to the site and submit your ballot by 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time tonight. The complete list of winners (first, second and third place in each category), will be inaugurated on the site on January 20.

10:27 pm	Final voting in the 2003 Jeds Final Voting in the 2003 Jeds is now open and runs for a total of ten days. Click on the nominees link at the site to cast your votes for the best of the finalists. Each category has the top five stories listed (if there are more, it means that there was an unbroken tie, and we didn't want to exclude anyone who received enough votes to get to the third round!). Go vote for one story in each category - the one you truly believe was the best of the year. Final Voting runs through January 17, 2004.

9:50 pm	The 2003 Jeds The Jeds are back, for a third consecutive year! November 15th will mark the first day of open nominations for the 2003 Jeds West Wing Fanfiction Awards. The Jeds are awards intended to honor the best in all types of West Wing fanfic: from romance to angst, from Josh/Donna to Sam/Toby, from the first campaign to forty years down the road. We've got a new look on the website, and we've got a new livejournal for those who prefer this forum to mailing lists, but the idea is the same as ever. The first stage of the awards is Open Nominations, which begins on November 15th and ends on November 30th. During this phase, you can go to the website and nominate ANY story for as many categories as it is eligible for. (Any story NOT nominated in this phase of voting will NOT qualify for any awards.) You may nominate either your own stories, or stories written by other people. You may nominate stories in all categories, or only in a few; you may nominate multiple stories in any given category or just one. Any story posted between December 1, 2002 (the cutoff date for the 2002 Jeds) and November 14, 2003 is eligible for a 2003 Jed award. That's a month away. The form for nominations is located at the new Jeds website.
